Got back today from an over night trip from Corner Ridge to Whittleton
Campground and it was awsome. I couldn't really ask more of a trail.
I know this trip has been posted before so I won't go into alot of detail.
The trail north of the river and Whittleton Branch was especially nice.
Most of trail is in pretty good condition, except for a few washouts, below Indian Arch comes to mind. Creek crossings on Chimney top and Salt Fk
were a bit of a challenge but found some fallen logs downstream and made it without a bath. Only saw 2 people first day and 7 the second. First backpacking trip since 1994 and I am whipped! |

Your last sentence reminded me of something said to me regarding backpacking "...its just walking", indicating it can't be challenging. How little that person knew. Glad you had a good time out there. |

My favorite sections so far. I was shocked at how nice Whittleton branch was. I still want to go back to see Indian Staircase and find the cave. _________________ In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ~John Muir |

I'm a big fan of it in the spring when the water is flowing through there... it's sort of jungle like.
btw my childhood home was in Milford. On Deblin off wolfpen. |

It really is a small world. I drive by Deblin all the time. I live a little further out on Rt 131, near Rt 132, about five miles from Stonelick State Forest. Been up here about a year now. Born and raised in Mt. Sterling, move out when I was 19 and been moving ever since! _________________ In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ~John Muir |
