Hello Horseback Riders,

We are trying to post on the www.sheltoweetrace.org site, places that horseback riders can ride on the Sheltowee Trace. You can answer up here if you are a rider. Location, conditions,. novice, advance trail, etc.... We will grab the info from here and post to web for others to use.

About 2x yearly there is an organized "trail ride" that runs from the south side of the river at Heidleburg to Turkeyfoot. I'd estimate that I met around 75-100 riders on trail near Arvel last year. (Not fun for anyone that is'nt mounted on their own horse!) I think I can get a contact for one of the organizers around here.

Both Stree and Turkeyfoot see equestrian traffic. I would strongly recommend avoiding STree on weekends; there are too many atvs on trail. Still a good place to ride a horse through the week though.
