The concept of leave no trace has been around for at least 20 years that I know of. Its sad to think that many just don't get the concept.

Sadly I don't know that it'll help much. The problem is the people who dont care. When I hiked to the Bark Camp Shelter last week there is a big sign that says "Pack in-Pack out" or something of that nature and tons of garbage.

Veela,
Was the trash at the shelter? What was the condition of the shelter?

The shelter was fine (aside from the fact there seemed to be a lot of mosquitos or something buzzing inside of it) but there was trash all around. Beer cans, potatos (real ones), etc. I think people are coming across the river by boat and leaving their trash.

The hike was kinda last-minute planned with me and boyfriend going. We didn't take a trash bag or anything so we had no way of carrying it out.
